Explanation:
In the winter of 2017, I was selected to join a team of SCAD students collaborating for academic credit with the Computer Museum of America to research the development of concepts for interior design, schematic plans and way-finding for exhibition, maker, event and cafe space in the new and innovative "Imagen Center".
Outcome:
The final deliverables consisted of a new floor plan, custom fixtures, as well as a facade for the new Computer Museum of America. Construction for the newly designed Computer Museum of America broke ground in Spring of 2017 in Roswell Georgia. The new structure would not only be used as a museum, but also as a Office of the Future (, a unique coworking experience,), an Education Center, event space, coffee shop, and as an Exterior Facade meant to engage the greater community. The final design is meant to be a world class center, celebrating innovation past forward.
Inspiration was gathered when we visited the origonal Computer Museum of America in Roswell GA, which is curated with an array of artifacts.
Initial Concepts were presented to the clients in the form of renderings and conceptual floor plans. The team separated into three subgroups at this point.
Final Presentation at the SCAD Museum of Art Theater, where we showed the client a fly-through of the final design and realistic renderings.
This custom seating unit was developed for the Education Center at the "Imagen Center". After school programs such as Kids for Coding can take advantage of this modular Keyboard inspired seating unit. This concept was developed to save space and also instil a feeling of wonder for the children who utilize this library space.
